The clerk said that he has seen the new plan showing the route of the
water pipe and that allotments on it's line will not be able to have
sheds nor grow invasive plants, apparently about 15 plots will be
affected. This is of course going to cause problems for the
prospective tenants.
As yet there is still no fixed date for the transfer of the
allotments, the amount to be paid by the developers for the
maintenance hasn't even been set as yet. The clerk is still hoping for
transfer by the end of the month as the developers are now wanting to
get the ball rolling for the extra 950 houses they are wanting to
build. He has been chasing solicitors and was in the process of
emailing a person whose name I forgot to write down, I think it was
someone at the developers.
Councillor Clayton Hudson raised the question of what the PC will do
if the transfer does not happen by the end of January, pointing out
that the council had been lucky that the prospective plot holders had
been so understanding of the delays thus far, but wasn't sure how well
any further delays would be taken. The question was not answered.
Councillor Hudson also asked how many plots had been allocated. There
are approximately 50 plots taken with about 2/3 of those prospective
plot holders having selected their plot.
I think I'll refrain from holding my breath for a little longer.
