I just uploaded the following five files to the Google Group for this run:
http://br100.googlegroups.com/web/Burrito100_SF-HMB.jpg
http://br100.googlegroups.com/web/Burrito100_HMB-Hwy84.jpg
http://br100.googlegroups.com/web/Burrito100_Hwy84_BigBasin.jpg
http://br100.googlegroups.com/web/Burrito100_BigBasin_SantaCruz.jpg
http://br100.googlegroups.com/web/Burrito100.tpo
The first four files are big JPEGs with the 24,000 scale topo maps from
San Francisco to Half Moon Bay, Half Moon Bay to Highway 84 (Alice's
Restaurant), Highway 84 to Big Basin Redwoods, and Big Basin Redwoods to
Santa Cruz. The last file is the route sketched out in National
Geographic's "Topo!" software.
We can pick out waypoints and give specific latitude/longitude for
handheld GPSes, or the .tpo file should be convertible into a route for
http://www.mapmyrun.com/ or similar site to enable viewing in Google
Earth or the like. The data is there; it's just a matter of how we'd
like to slice & dice it at this point.
Warning: these are *big* files (nearly 10 MB each). Be ready for
complications when printing -- print 'em in such a way that you'll be
fine with following the route at 3 AM in the forest on a possibly-rainy
night!
Looking forward to an amazing adventure and wonderful way to achieve the
cherished Burrito,
- Fred
