Dear all,

Happy snow day! I hope you are all enjoying it from somewhere warm and cozy. Meanwhile, my cat keeps begging me to open the window to let her smell the outdoors and freak out when the wind blows snow in her face. NO, KITTY. It is Antarctica out there.

We would like to remind everyone to join us tomorrow evening for the January CPC meeting on Zoom at 6:00. We will be visited by Chief of Students Cory McCarthy and we will also talk about budgets.

ALSO:

We still have three spots open for the Leadership team, and we will again hold special elections tomorrow if we are able to achieve quorum. It would be great to have a full team, and we would love to bring three more dedicated, amazing parents/caregivers onboard!

SPECIAL ELECTION INFORMATION
  • You may nominate yourself, another CPC representative, or any other BPS parent or caregiver
  • Nominees must be present during the meeting during which the elections are held to be elected
  • A CPC representative may run for more than one office in the same election, but they may not hold more than one office simultaneously
  • A co-chair must not be:
    • An employee within BPS central office, including the cabinet or executive level of BPS
    • A member of the Boston Teachers Union
    • A member of the Boston School Committee
    • An employee of the Education department or division of the Mayor's Office

Open Positions

  1. Diversity Co-Chair
  2. Assistant Diversity Co-Chair #1
  3. Assistant Diversity Co-Chair #2

The roles and responsibilities of these positions can be found in our CPC Bylaws and additional information about the workings and expectations of the Leadership Team can be found in the CPC Working Protocols.

Due to the collaborative nature of our team, we are seeking candidates who will be dedicated and willing to share in the work of making the CPC a trusted, valuable organization and asset to all BPS families and caregivers.

IMPORTANT: We are only able to hold elections if we achieve quorum at the meeting. We will need as many CPC representative members to attend to vote!

If you know of anyone in your circles who would be a great fit and they agree with you, ask them to attend our meeting so that they can be nominated and voted in - you do not need to be a CPC representative to be part of the Leadership team.

All the best,

Betsy Yoshimura
CPC Communications Co-Chair
