To: Jillie Santos <jillie...@cfjj.org>, Tarshia Green-Williams <tar...@massjwj.net>

Hello friends -- just a reminder that today kicks off our Three Days of Action as we work to convince the School Committee, BPS Central, and the Mayor that the vote on exam school admissions changes should at least be delayed. All our actions are listed below -- PLEASE reach out if you have questions!

Three Days of Action! November 3-5
  •  On Monday November 3, we will deliver our petition to Mayor Wu at City Hall at noon. Can you join us in a show of support? Meet us in the main lobby at 11:55 and help us with the delivery! If you have questions, email tar...@massjwj.net.

  • On Tuesday November 4 we will collect even more petition signatures at the Phineas Bates School in Roslindale (426 Beech St), starting at 8:30 am. The Bates School is also a polling place, and Mayor Wu is expected to vote there Tuesday morning. Please come and help gather signatures! Either email kri...@massedjustice.org to say you'll come or just find our sign at the school.

  • On Wednesday November 5, we will make a final petition delivery to Superintendent Skipper at the Bolling Building (2300 Washington St, Roxbury) at 10:00 am. Again, we would love to have you join us and show your support! Meet in the Bolling's lobby at 9:55. If you have any questions, email jillie...@cfjj.org

  • And of course, Wednesday at 6 pm is the School Committee meeting! We urge you to join us -- in person if you can -- and to testify as to the damaging effects of the superintendent's recommendations and to the total lack of a proper community engagement process. The sign-up form for testimony will be live 48 hours before the 6 pm Wednesday meeting here: https://www.bostonpublicschools.org/school-committee/about. The more people who testify, the more difficult it is for the School Committee to not hear our voices and our concerns. If you can't come in person, virtual testimony is also great -- and you can submit written testimony as well to lpa...@bostonpublicschools.org to be distributed to the School Committee.
If you would like help creating your testimony, we are offering a testimony prep session also on Wednesday, at noon on Zoom. Log on here:
