The Book Club will be discussing:
The Affairs of Others by Amy Loyd Grace.
On November 4, from 6:45 until 7:45 PM in the Quiet Study Room
Five year’s after her husband’s death, Celia has not yet recovered from the loss. She rents out the apartments in her Brooklyn home to tenants who she knows will keep to themselves. The widow remains locked in her solitary grief until a dazzling woman named Hope reintroduces violence and sex to the small community. Suddenly, the isolated tenants must move beyond their self-imposed boundaries to experience the possibilities of intimacy and joy. Amy Grace Loyd has worked in publishing for most of her career, as the fiction editor at Playboy and, most recently, as an executive editor at the e-publisher, Byliner. This is her first novel. The Affairs of Others has been recommended by Bill Goldstein on the Today Show.
