October Book Club meeting

            The next meeting of the Bloomfield Public Library Book Club will be on Monday, October 6^th from 6:45 until 7:45 PM in the Quiet Study Room.  The topic of discussion will be  Blessings  by Anna Quindlen. 

 

A teenaged girl gives birth in secret.  She and her equally frightened boyfriend decide to leave their infant daughter on the doorstep of wealthy Lydia Blessing.  By mistake, they leave her outside the garage apartment of Lydia’s caretaker, Skip Cuddy.  Skip, a former foster child, recently released from prison, decides to keep the baby.  When eighty-year-old Lydia, who has dark secrets of her own, discovers what he is hiding, she decides to help Skip raise the little girl he names Faith.

Anna Quindlen’s bittersweet novel is a lyrical exploration of love, regret, and second chances.
