Since, everyone thinks that we should start the work on marketing and finance please put all the relevant information on this thread. By relevant I mean, cost of production, plant setup and machinery, as well as final product and related details. Also, since we are having this unending debate on what the product should be, I suggest the plant setup team come up with a 3-4 stages up gradation plan, from the smallest possible plant(e.g. just creating pellets) to the biggest(what we are aiming in the long run probably, diverse finished products and fuel). This will facilitate us in planning the financing of the business over the years.

All of us have collected enough material for marketing bioplastics. We have enough eye-catching statistics which we can use but, all is there in the numerous threads that we have created. It will be great if we can create this thread putting in just the final ideas and picking the best material from what we already have so everyone just look into your own posts and hand pick the best of all and put it in this thread.

This thread is for final drafting and so please no discussion on this thread. I request no spamming this thread, this is where we keep everything in place so that the Marketing and Finance team can start making the presentation. Any discussion relating to the material can be done through chat or in person.

Please let me know any doubts or suggestion regarding this thread, through email or chat in person and not on this thread.

PFA
1. a sample biotech business plan - just see its contents to see what all basic points we might look to include.
2. a ppt - has some interesting stats, put them up if you feel they're authentic enough. design looked appealing
3. a brief b-plan on bamboo->bioplastics. has a lot of important details, and is presented superbly
4. the process flow diagram from the above B-Plan, which we're looking to incorporate into ours(algae instead of bamboo).

Hope these help. Cheers!

PS. i removed the ppt since it was taking too much space.

A suggestion when you read the PDF/link it'll be better that post the bullet points here rather than the entire link.
It'll be much easier for to go through in my opinion.

I second Vasanth. Its impossible for me to read so much and then decide what to use. I am sure if you have shared the link you have already read it so it will be easier for you to summarize.

we were looking into the sugar content of the algae for quite a while and could not find the exact composition. however the carbohydrate content is about 28-30% of dry wt.
we are assuming 25% by dry wt. of starch/glucose.
if someone finds anything on the sugar content of the algae please do post and your views on this assumption!!
