Dear Students and Parents,

 

Students are required to undertake two field projects between 25th May and 5th July, 2012, focusing on base map preparation and preliminary field visits for the transportation planning studio. This is a MANDATORY project for all students. Weekly attendance has to be taken to establish progress. The project contains 100 marks for external so kindly undertake it as soon as possible. Two groups will be made of seven people each.

 

a) Students can make base maps of the following places and conduct there site analysis:

  1. Connaught place
  2. Lotus temple
  3. Chandni chowk
  4. Humayun tomb
  5. Red fort

 

Students are expected to prepare a base map, conduct a site analysis and prepare an upgraded version of the map too, with a short report on procedure of map preparation.

 

b) Preparation of study material for transportation studio and pre testing field trips

Students are expected to set up slides for assigned modules of transportation planning and theory studio, with photos and student friendly assignments. Students are also expected to visit the following field sites to set up surveys such as:

a)      Classification of Roads: Cannaught Place

b)      Parking Survey: NOIDA Spice Mall

c)      Origin Destination Survey: Sector 129, NOIDA

d)      Area Circulation Plan: Cannught Place
