VERY URGENT AND IMMEDIATE NEED
Job Title: Hadoop Administrator
Location: Princeton, NJ
Duration: 06+ Months Contract
Development & Production env’s - must have administration exp with hortonworks. Multiple – hortonworks data platforms:, Hortonworks Data Platform - HDP. The other one is Hortonworks Dataflow- HDP. Also Hadoop:
HDP – Hadoop cluster
HDF – NiFi administration exp
Job Description:
Must have experience with high availability on production systems. High availability is extremely important. Need to have experience with the concepts and principles.
Troubleshooting, how to do that… what do you do when we are 99% cpu… concept troubleshooting questions
Understanding troubleshooting and memory issues, utilization aspect.
Administering and maintaining some other platforms – such as Syncsort. Applications that sit on top of Hadoop – a plus
Unix and Linux administration a must have – must know how to write shell scripts. Hadoop cluster is Linux based not windows.
Need to have experience with Security – how to implement and maintain security across these platforms. Implementing apache ranger and integrating with Ldap. Needs someone that really knows this! Especially around production platforms.
Hdfs and hive in particular. Ambari is the metrics and monitory tool – MUST have this. Know and navigate with it. Microsoft Azure is their cloud platform. Microsoft nodes is a plus. Will be doing ongoing administration, maintenance of the platforms.
Will document and formalize processes for the environments. Document processes and surrounding administration of platforms. Complete understanding of all application in Hadoop ecosystem. Must have all components of Hadoop ecosystem: Pig, Hive, Hbase, Cassandra..
Scripting language – Shell scripting at minimum and python or another program lang is a plus.
Jenkins tool – continuous integration and delivery. Needs some administration for that. Exp with continuous integration, continuous delivery platforms is a +.
Personality – learn new concepts, team player, self-sufficient, help to build better solutions, offer ideas, motivated!!! Think outside the box, knows the administration space and take it further ie streamline, automated, offer to help, documenting processes, and formalizing processes. Needs someone to take over the helm in this space.
Deploy of new environments and scaling existing env’s. spin up a new cluster to support something else. Need to know this.
Fresh install from ground up, new clusters, adding nodes and what that means. What are those steps to building a new cluster or scaling environments.
Will be deploying a release into production one week and then another one after that…
