Chicago Market Days Tournament w/e Aug 12 2011

Hey guys/gals

The Chicago Market Days Tournament is fast approaching.
Boston is planning on sending a team and there has been significant interest so far.
If you don't know about the tournament, here are the details

• Tournament Dates Friday Aug 12 - Sunday Aug 14, 2011
  
•  What are the levels of play?

  The Developmental division is for players who are newer to the sport of hockey. It’s likely for players who have been playing for less than 5-7 years. It will be played on a rink that is 25% shorter than an average size rink and will thusly be 4-on-4 play.

  The Recreational division is for players who have more experience with the sport of hockey. The level of play will be higher than Developmental and will be 5-on-5 play.

• When will games be played?

  The majority of games will be played Friday and Saturday. Only the championship games will be played on Sunday.

• Registration will be accepted until the first day of play on August 12th. The cost until 7/15 is $125, from 7/16 – 8/12 is $150.
•  What is included in my registration?

  For players: 3 game minimum, reception ticket, t-shirt, goodie bag, equipment storage at the rink.

  For guests: Reception ticket, t-shirt, and a goodie bag.

Boston is planning on sending a team that will compete in the Recreational Division. That means it will be more competitive.  As BPH is an inclusive organization we want to invite everyone to participate. If you are not comfortable in playing in a more competitive environment you can still join us at the tournament and register as an individual player in the development division. 

At this point we need to have you CONFIRM your interest by doing the following:

1. Send me an email ( es...@comcast.net ) reply to this email, if you are going and indicate whether you are playing in the development division or on the recreational division boston team.
   So that we can confirm the roster (# of players on the rec division boston team), if you intend to play on this team roster I need to hear from you NO LATER than June 26, 2011 (thats this sunday)
   At that time I will fill the roster with sub/standby players.
   
2. Register at the Chicago Market Days Tournament Website  http://chicagogayhockey.org/2011-market-days-classic/main-page/  Click on registration.
   If you are registering to play in the development division,   Register as an individual and indicate the development division
   If you are registering to play in the recreational division, Register as an individual in the recreational division AND specify the team Boston Lobsters
3. Travel Arrangements - You should book your travel to Chicago/Ohare as soon as possible as summer fares will only get more expensive. I would suggest arriving Thurs Nite as games will begin at 5pm on Friday.
   
4. Tournament Host Hotel Information
   
   - The tournament has a host hotel that is convenient. I would recommend making reservations ASAP.  Additional information is below

   Rate available Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday Aug. 11-15, 2011:

   Double Queen, 3-4 occupants: $169 Sales Tax not included

Once quick note/change.

When you are registering for the tournament and are planning on playing on the Boston Lobsters Team in the Recreational Division please specify you are registering as a "Team Member" and playing on the Boston Lobsters Team.
