Hey everyone. Several months ago, we talked about the possibility of
hosting a babysitting night at the church. Are you still interested in
doing this? If so, we'll need a team of people to pull it off. What do
you think? Is it something we ought to try?

Thats something I'd still like to do and have our "Pixar" night. I think it would be a great idea.

Hey, Y'all.
I've been impressed at your responses to this post. I think it will
make a big difference to the families of young kids at Bethany. I have
one small reservation, however, and it's all my doing. I'm feeling
that we haven't started quite early enough. We probably COULD get it
done if one of us were to become the "point person" for this event &
coordinate a small team of us. But I'm feeling like it might make
more sense to do this on Feb 14 (Valentine's day, Thursday) or Feb 15
(Friday, the day after Valentine's).

To do it now, we'd need to hit the publicity hard, and make sure we
have enough of us committed to attend the event (for crowd control, if
nothing else). We probably need to receive signups (to know how much
food to buy--I'm thinking that we'd order pizza for the kids & ask for
$5/child).

Other questions: do we want to open the classrooms to have games or
playtime for those uninterested in the film? Would we want to do an
art project & who would lead that? What ages of kids do we want to
invite--are we prepared to change diapers? Do we need to "cap" the
number of signups at 25? 50? 75?

You might think of other questions that I've missed.

What are your thoughts?

I think it might be a good idea to have separate rooms for different
ages and show movies that are more appropriate for those ages. I think
we could probably also have a game room and/or an art room for anyone
who isn't interested in watching a movie. I don't see why we couldn't
handle a room just with babies, that way no ones left out. I wouldn't
mind changing diapers and I doubt it would be a huge problem. I think
having a maximum capacity of about 40-50 would be plenty as long as we
had enough help. We should see how many people would be able to help
before we set an amount though.
