Hi all,

We are currently in the process of preparing the BPBible 0.5 release.  I have just released BPBible 0.5 Beta 2 (http://code.google.com/p/bpbible/downloads/list), and I don't think there will be too many changes in BPBible 0.5 after this (and I don't expect the strings to change much, if at all).

If it is possible for you to update your translation that would be good.  The updated locale files are in the source distribution for the beta, and you can also run the beta to see the strings in their context.

If there is anything else we can do to help please feel free to contact us.

Thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon,

I'm confused! Bpbible 0.5 doesn't run under Ubuntu... I found this
issue:

http://code.google.com/p/bpbible/issues/detail?id=186&q=line%2053

But there are so many comments...

Which steps are necessary to run bpbible 0.5 on ubuntu 10.04? I will
test and translate ...

Thanks for your good work!!
Micha

Hi Michael,

You are right, there are a lot of comments on that issue.  I still haven't really resolved the compile from source issue, since I've been focusing on getting this beta out, but it must be done sometime before the final release.

However, I have uploaded the binaries that I built to my Google site, and the instructions to use them can be found in Comment 5 of that issue (http://code.google.com/p/bpbible/issues/detail?id=186#c5).  I also found that it complains it cannot load libsoftokn3.so when it starts up.  As far as I can tell, this can be ignored.  It may be a XULRunner packaging issue, since this library does seem to be included with Firefox.  I must follow that up with Ubuntu and find if it is actually a problem...

The other thing to make sure of is that it is using XULRunner 1.9.2.x.  I'm not sure if that is the standard on 10.04 (I'm on 10.10, I think).

Hi Jon,

OK, bpbible 0.5 run on Ubuntu 10.04. I copy wc.py and _wc.so in the
Python dist-package directory.

My Ubuntu 10.04 using XULRunner 1.9.2.14 (standard installation).

Thanks,
Micha
