Just for your interest, thanks to Ben's work on the Mac we now have verified that BPBible on WebConnect can now work (at least to some extent) on Windows, Linux and Mac.  It is still somewhat more fiddly than I would like to get building or working on any of them (though at the moment it is probably best supported on Windows just because you can get the binaries from a distributed py2exe build).  It relies on using XULRunner 1.9.2.x.

Also, Ben fixed some of the sluggishness by eliminating a quadratic algorithm deep in wxWebConnect that scaled to our problem about as well as quadratic algorithms generally do.

How did you set it up on Linux?  I'd like to try it out on Linux and make sure it works or can be made to work on a 64-bit system.
