Hey Psycho Crossers!

We are almost to the point of no return.  This is the fourth race of the season.  If have have done all four then you may as well show up for every race.

We are looking at what appears to be another beautiful evening to be racing.  The committee is trying for the CX conditions, but we are failing miserably.  Enjoy another beautiful evening to be riding your bike.

I attached the course to this e-mail.  This week we are racing, “The Lion.”  That reminds me of our old family friend.  Yeah, he had the heart of a lion, and also a lifetime ban at the zoo! (That one is an oldie, but a goodie…. no Lions were harmed in the making of that joke.)

When you look at the course map please notice the usage of the bike path on the course.  Sometimes we successfully restrain our course-designer-sadist who laughs in the face of suffering.   Just make sure you pay attention because the place on the course where you will get the most flats is by the fork in the trail.  (Read it again…. when you groan…. yeah, you got it.). We are also bringing out the logs for this race..... I said we sometimes restrain the course-designer.... So, be prepared for some potential log jams and plan your lines accordingly.

Race starts at 6.  Remember to use the same number plate as last week. Here is the link to the registration, The results for last week are here, and the overall race results are over here.  We have some competition shaping up here.  The Division B men have some competition brewing with 1 point separating Ryan Stanionis and Brian Bothner.  The series is young and there is potential for more shake ups!  If we have a tie then we might have to break out the sumo suits for a timed rally lap at the end of the season!  I really want to see that some year!

VOLUNTEER signup (Here is a link to volunteer expectations) and this is a link to general information to bookmark for this season and future news!  We do have a retirement category!  This is a guaranteed podium place at this point.  Just remember that age is a matter of mind over matter.  If you don’t mind then it doesn’t matter!

As I sign off…. remember to give the faster riders room to pass.  Remember to learn from them.  I know that one of the beneficial things to get stronger on the climbs for me was to engage in lunges.  My wife assured me that it would be a big step forward…. Here all week folks….

Thanks all!  Don’t forget that cross is a matter of seconds so keep working on those skills.  As always…. rubber side down!

Cheers
