Hey Psycho Crossers!

Well we have come to the end of the season.  It has been a great season not only with the quality of people who have showed up to race, but incredible weather!  Thanks all for being good and respectful people.  Thank you for bringing the competition and showing up! Thanks for doing the handups and all the shops for sponsoring our series.  You know last week I got hit on the head with a can of soda…. I’m okay because thankfully it was a soft drink.

We are looking at some snowy conditions for Wednesday.  Robin has some good prizes planned for the end of the year ceremony immediately following the race.  I attached the course for this week.  Don’t be alarmed if the course is shortened because of snowy conditions.

This is our last race, costumes are encouraged, but dress for the weather.  We don’t want anyone to get frost bite…. oh, that’s when a vampire crosses paths with a snowman. On another note, I’ve been learning braille and picked up some Stephen King novels in braille for Halloween.  Something bad is going to happen….. I can feel it. (I had to get that one in one e-mail.  I've been saving it all season).

Thank you Summit Bike and Ski for hosting last week!  Too bad you didn’t have the fat bikes available this week to “try out….”  Seriously, thank you for hosting and doing a great job! We appreciate the support of our sponsors and cycle shops in our community.

This week Alter Cycle is hosting the race.  They always have a few tricks up their sleeve so be ready to be tricked or treated.   I attached their course to this e-mail.  I just noticed that the chicanes look like a horror/demented moose…. or maybe that is just my weird imagination.  Oh, what is a Wizard’s favorite app?  Spell check!

The race starts at 5:30.  If it is really snowy we won’t run for the full 45-50 minutes.  Please bring your lights if you are riding home after the race!  The awards for Men’s A, Women’s A, Men’s B, and Women’s B, and some Juniors…. will be right after the race.

Here is the link to the registration, The results for last week are here, and the overall race results are over here

VOLUNTEER signup (Here is a link to volunteer expectations) and this is a link to general information to bookmark for this season and future news!  I would call attention to retirees having guaranteed podium, but you probably wouldn’t remember anyway….. Come on out and give me a piece for your mind for that.  While you’re out there why not ride a few laps? :-D

If you need to use the bathroom there is a porta potty by the bathrooms.  Maybe that is not your number 1 or 2 priority, but I’ll leave that up to you.

There are some upcoming CX options if you still have the CX bug:

  1. Mule Cross in Ennis.  (This weekend)
  2. Rolling Thunder in Missoula (This weekend)
  3. Pan American Cyclocross (Nov. 4, 5)

There have been a lot of people involved in this series to keep it going!  Thank you all!  Thank you for putting up with my bad humor and letting me keep my keyboard to send out the weekly e-mail.  I figure I’m sort of a like a cat eating a fur ball….. I like a good gag!

Thanks all who showed up to race, spectated, hosted, and whatever else you did!  Thank you for making your contribution to the series!  Hopefully we see each other around with stick feet or on fat bikes this winter.  Otherwise I hope to see you next year.  It would be like an invisible man reunion where we say, “long time no see you.”

Be safe!  I hope you get plenty of time to play in the snow.  As always rubber side down!

Cheers

Pauly
