Bon jour mes amis

I hope this email finds you all healthy and happy.  First off, my apologies on behalf of the committee for the late notice on this year's camp. The committee will receive 40 lashes with a wet noodle as punishment for being so derelict in their duties to provide enough time for people to plan for the training camp.  That said, the committee is very excited to get the camp going. Additionally the committee is happy to move forward with a trial of two camps this year. A camp in May and a second camp in July exact dates TBD. Because the miles must be ridden, the form improved.

As always, the rides will start at 5:30AM, we will meet in the alley between Owenhouse Cycling and Rockford Coffee Company. We will ride the 50 mile Working Dawgs training loop, the same loop every day. There is a ~ 6 mile section of gravel, please come prepared. There are many places to cut this loop short and return to town early if work, family or life are interfering with your training. We are usually back in town around 8:15-8:30.  Although this is not a no-drop ride, we do stop 3 times to let dropped riders catch back up and to regroup. The link below is for the loop.

Why does the camp start on a Tuesday? Well, your humble domestique will be working on Monday May 12th, consider this the official call for a volunteer ride leader for May 12th. I will handle all emails, etc. If nobody volunteers, the camp starts on Tuesday May 13th, because your humble domestique is a working dawg.

The committee is pleased to announce that Family Promise is our local charity for fundraising this year. This is an organization that helps many families in the Gallatin Valley in their very important mission.

Please read below for a summary of their mission and goals

Our vision is  to end homelessness in the Gallatin Valley, one family at a time.

Our mission to empower families experiencing housing insecurities to secure a safe, affordable home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future for their children

Fausto Coppi, was a working Dawg...Are you a working Dawg?

Il Campionissimo on his way to winning the 1950 Paris Roubaix. second place finisher Maurice Diot said afterward, "Oh I won Paris Roubaix today, Coppi was on another level, he wasn't in our race". Coppi won many races in his career including 5 Giro d'Italia's, 2 Tours de France, 3 x Milan San Remo, 5 x Tour of Lombardia and Paris Roubaix.

I hope to see you all May13th at 5:30am
Look for more upcoming emails...
Your humble domestique
Jeff
