Hey Psycho Crossers!
You made it past the point of no return. Now, you have to finish the series. The conditions for Wednesday should be incredible! This rain will make the dirt nice and sticky with some adventurous mud sections…. that should bring some giggles to the spectators.
I realize that I have not called attention to each host of our series. I really want to thank Uphill Pursuits for their work last week. I mean the clown and all? Totally in the spirit of cross. Now whoever hosts after them will have big shoes to fill (wait for it…. did you groan yet?….here all week).
I attached the course to this e-mail. This week we are racing, “The Pursuit of Happiness!” Our host for the race tomorrow evening is Pursuit Cycles. Stop by their tent and chat with them to see what they have going on and thank them for hosting.
This week we should be bringing back the stairs. If the stairs discourage you just remember that they are like ladders, but with extra steps! There, that should make lap 3 or 4 a little more humorous. If you notice this is like the Lion, but more happy…. or reversed. You can decide.
So, this week we use the bike path going down hill. Yup, we locked the sadist away, but be prepared to use the logs again! I mean we do have to follow the captain’s log…. and not make this too easy right?
RACE STARTS AT 6 PM. NEXT WEEK the race will start at 5:30.
Keep your number plate throughout the series even if you are not racing all the races.. Here is the link to the registration, The results for last week are here, and the overall race results are over here. We have some competition shaping up here. The series is not won at this point and there can still be some upsets. Let’s get a tie because I really want to see the sumo suit lap as an end of the season tie breaker!
VOLUNTEER signup (Here is a link to volunteer expectations) and this is a link to general information to bookmark for this season and future news! We do have a retirement category! Remember that this is your podium. They say that retirement is like everyday is the weekend. So come out and race! We can store your walker for you…. :-D
Mulecross will be doing their thing at the end of the season. So, this is an upcoming opportunity to get another CX race in before you break out the skis.
As I sign off…. remember to give the faster riders room to pass. Watch their lines and practice them. Cross is a victory in seconds each lap rather than minutes in one lap.
Thanks all! Keep bringing the good attitude, competitive spirit, and let’s finish the series strong. What do you get when dinosaurs crash their bikes? Tyrannosaurus wrecks…. As always…. rubber side down! Stay safe!
Cheers
Paul Lindemulder on behalf of the CX committee
