I just set up an awesome three screen system with a brand new computer
with the purpose of using it for iRacing. As long as it was a
dedicated gaming area I figured I should load up some other racing
games like rFactor, Trackmania, GTR, GT Legends, and Grid. I did load
rFactor but I don't think tha has the protection issues. Before
loading the others I read about these issues with Starforce and
Securom. It seems like the right thing to do is not to load these
games. But what do you do if you want to play these games? Are there
safe games out there and how do you tell? I would love to take
advantage of this great system I have set up but I also don't want to
ruin it with this type of garbage. I could stick with iRacing only
but it is too bad that I can't load these other games. Is it really
that much of an issue where I should not even think of loading these
games? Are there safe games out there?

Thanks for you input.

I see only 2 options here.

1) Set up an old computer that will solely be used for StarForce
games. That way if it damages the hardware then it doesn't really
matter.

2) Somehow find a cracked version of the game that does not use
StarForce. I prefer this option, because what if you do option 1 and
then the computer gets damaged - are you going to keep setting up
computers to continue playing? But I always buy my games, so I don't
really know where to find cracked/pirated games. And you never know
if you will download something that has a virus.
