Dear DCS Users:
This is the current configuration for GOES DCS Data reception to facilitate the recovery of data from GOES East.
GOES-East is normally at 75W.
At Wallops we have configured our East demods on GOES-12 at 60W. GOES-12 has lower power thresholds than GOES-13 and above, so may not receive everything.
At NSOF (Suiland) and at EDDN (USGS in Sioux Falls) we have configured our antennae to receive GOES-East signal from GOES-14 at 105W. Our hope is that with this configuration we may pick up the most diversity of signals.
If you use the lrgs at Wallops (cdadata, cdabackup) or the lrgs at EDDN (eddn1, eddn2) you should be able to get data from all sites.
We don't expect any new information on GOES-13 until sometime next week, so this configuration is likely to remain for at least a full week.
Thank you,
Kay
