Hello Boxsters,
Winter made an early appearance in my neck of the woods.
We got our first inch of snow on Friday.
While we were on the low side of that storm just a little South they got 6-8 inches!
It is Monday and time for a new Free Download for your enjoyment.
This weeks art comes from the palette of John Amendola, and was featured on the 1985, Williams Brothers release of their 1/32 scale, Granville Brothers Gee Bee Z racer kit.
Williams Brothers was a long time staple in the modelling community.
They went into business shortly after WWII and were well known for their great catalog of accessories for large models. usually RC.
They made wheels, machine guns, motors and all sorts of detailing add-ons for model aircraft and cars.
Around 1973 they jumped into the plastic kit market with a nice selection of models that had long been ignored by the mainstream kit makers.
The Granville Gee Bee model Z was the first of the Gee Bee Sportster racers.
It won the 1931 Thompson Trophy but had a fatal crash shortly afterward and was destroyed.
The next version was the better known R1 version flown by Jimmy Doolittle.
I selected a handful of Gee Bee Z pics for you.
All the images are 1280 pixels.
