TIPS for USING GOOGLE GROUPS

IMPORTANT NOTE WHEN USING AN EMAIL PROGRAM :

If you click the standard "REPLY" button, Google *only* sends your reply to the original author (like a private message) -- your reply will *not* be be seen by other members of the group. For everyone to see your reply, you must click on "REPLY TO LIST" or "REPLY TO ALL" -- only then will your reply go out to the whole group so everyone can see and participate in the on-going discussions.

VIEWING TOPIC THREADS:

When you click on a subject/topic thread, often most of the messages are collapsed and you have to click on each one individually to see the entire text. If you want to expand all the messages at once for easy viewing, it can only be done with a keyboard shortcut (I guess Google ran out of buttons). When you are seeing a bunch of collapsed messages, simply hit the lower-case "o" key (not the numerical "zero" key) and all of the messages will "uncollapse" for easy reading. Sometimes you have to hit the "o" key twice to get it to work.
