Hello Boxsters,
Monday has found us once more ... and that means it is time for a new Free Down;load.
This week's FD is one that I have a personal affinity for.
In 1960, I turned 12 years old.
I was already smitten with the aviation and model afflictions,  and was always building a kit or two.
For my birthday my wonderful Mom gifted me this kit.
From little known kit maker, Pyro, she came across this kit and knew it was meant for me.
I can not begin to count how many hours I spent designing aircraft with this kit.
I kept it in my prized model closet for many years.
Like so much of my stuff, it disappeared while I was in the Army.
My brothers had no recollection of it's fate.
Pyro only released it once, in 1960.
They also had two other "Design A" kits, "Design A Car" and "Design A House."
I never saw any of them in the local shops, my Mom was magical on occasion.

Jean,
All I can say to this week's kit box subject is: 'Wow!'
Thanks for sharing the model memories too.

Jean,

*wow!* indeed... I've never heard tell or seen this "kit" before! If I had when I was a bit younger I would have begged and borrowed enough money to get hold of one. Anyone out there who ever had this thing? I'd love to hear how well it worked. The box says "makes up to 4,000 different models" which seems kind of exaggerated to me... heck, just 400 different would have been impressive.

There are a couple of these currently on ePay for the blistering price of forty bucks. Not MY purview, but have at it!
