Hello Boxsters,
It is the last Monday in March, 2026, and time for a new free download.
This week's FD is another goodie from Chris' stash of boxart.
The art is from short lived Japaneses kit maker, Sanwa.
They were active from 1959 until about 1963.
The art is from their 1963 export release of the 1/319 scale kit of the Douglas C-133 Cargomaster.
They were known for small scale kits of relatively little known subjects and disappeared shortly after this release.
The C-133 first flew in 1956, and 50 of them were produced.
The Cargomaster was the USAF's primary, heavy lifter, and last propeller driven cargo carrier until it's retirement in 1971.
I selected a dozen images of the C-133 for your enjoyment.
All the images are 1280 pixels.

Jean,
Neat to see a kit maker lesser known. Name is new to me.
This plane looks a bit like the C-130 on steroids!

I've never heard of this kit!  I sure would like to have one.  Thanks, Jean!

I think this is the scan that I sent to Chris in 2015 of my kit.
As a small scale modeler I'm always on the look out for suitable kits and this one, in 1/319, was cute but not applicable. Their C-124 (still haven't found one) is in 1/240!
I had to go to the PAK-20 for details!
Sanwa was also TokyoPlamo.
I've attached the parts and plans.

Michael, thanks for sharing the parts and instructions! What do you mean that “as a small scale modeler… this one wasn’t applicable”? Thanks, Scott

1/319 is a scale that doesn't match anything else.
The 'holy grail' is 1/240 - the Monogram Air Power scale!
The C-124 is 1/240, for instance.

That is two bits of information I didn't know. Monogram Air Power was 1/240th? I still have most of mine packed away somewhere. Didn't realize they were to the same scale! While I don't recall ever seeing this C-133 kit, I might have to seek one out when (if?) I ever decide to renovate those old kits.
