Hello Boxsters,

Spring is finally here, the snow is gone and the plants are waking up.

Bright green shoots are peeking above ground in all our planters.

It is also a Monday and time for a new Free Download.

This week's FD comes form an unlikely source.

My local Izaak Walton League Chapter featured an auction in conjunction with our annual wild game dinner.

Someone donated a stash of old plastic models for the auction.

The club decided to put them on sale in the item preview area for $1 each.

The selection had been whittled down by the time I saw them so I just grabbed a couple.

This weeks FD is one of them, the 1971 boxart that Fujimi featured on their 1/72 scale release of the Grumman E-2A Hawkeye, US Navy AEW aircraft.

The Hawkeye first flew in 1960 and was in production by 1964.

Over 300 of them were built and constant upgrades it is still in service.

There is a Polaroid of the only model contest I ever entered in 1977.

The local IPMS Chapter held a regional model contest and the kit I built came in 2nd place.

I selected a baker's dozen images of this neat airplane for your enjoyment.
