TEACHER HOLIDAY LUNCHEON

Bowie PTSA is hosting a holiday luncheon for the teachers and staff on Friday, Dec. 8th. This festive event will be catered by Bowie’s own amazing Culinary Arts students during both lunch periods. We are looking for a few more gift cards and donations! Click HERE to view the sign up page. Please bring gift cards by the front office no later than Thursday, Dec. 7th.

TUTORING

The National Honor Society's Peer Tutoring Program provides free one-on-one academic help to students between 8:15 am - 8:45 am in the Bowie library.  Although walk-ins are welcome, when a reservation is submitted efforts will be made to ensure the student is matched with a Bowie NHS Peer Tutor who can best help. 

The 9th Grade Tutoring Center is Open in the Sage 1 Portable. It’s FREE!!
Mornings: 8:20-8:50 | During Both Lunches |Afternoons: 4:30-5:00 (except Fridays)

POETRY OUT LOUD

Bowie will host its first annual Poetry Out Loud competition this year. Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry performance competition and state winners can receive up to $200 and a free trip to the national competition in Washington, DC where the top prize is $20,000.  Students who are interested in competing should contact Ms. Rolfe in room A210 or Mr. Flick in room A126. The school competition will be held on December 7th. Students can also sign up for the Remind by texting @egc6hg to the number 81010.

Bowie Speech & Debate Results from Glenbrooks

The following students advanced to the out-rounds in Chicago at the Glenbrooks tournament. This is a very large national tournament and they competed against kids from across the nation. 

Semi-Finalist in Congressional Debate - Amy Shreeve

Quarter Finalist in Duo Interp - Sofia Hutton and Natalie Guerra

Quarter Finalist in Dramatic Interp - Luke Fisher

We have had people in out-rounds for the past 4 years that we have attended this tournament! Awesome job by these kids!

Bowie Boys Lacrosse Start Your Engines, Dawgs! Test Drive a New Ford Car or Truck and Raise Money! Bowie Boys Lacrosse has teamed up with Maxwell Ford to bring Ford’s Drive 4 UR School program to our community Saturday, December 9th from 10am-2pm. For every test drive, Ford will donate to Bowie Boys Lacrosse. Circle C gets a fun, free, no-hassle way to check out new car models — no sales pitches and no strings attached — while Bowie Boys Lacrosse gets much-needed funds from Ford. It’s a win for everyone!
