SENIOR BREAKFAST NEEDS DONATIONS
Bowie's annual Senior Breakfast is Tuesday, May 22nd, and the planning committee is looking for donations. Please label items "Senior Breakfast" and leave them in the Bowie front office anytime between now and Monday, May 21st. (NOTE – The breakfast committee is comprised of members of the Bowie staff.)

PROJECT GRADUATION – IT’S HERE!
Class of 2018 Project Graduation is Wednesday, May 30th at High 5 in Lakeway
This is a traditional fun all-nighter for graduates to celebrate the end of high school with their friends in a safe environment. If you have any questions, please visit our 2018 Project Graduation website here. We are rolling along with over 170 students signed up! Tickets for Project Graduation is $150. Registration forms are on the website or in the front office. Join the fun!

AISD Orchestra Solo and Ensemble Results…
Bowie had 14 students participate in the AISD Solo and Ensemble Competition. Congratulations to the following students for their hard work in earning a Superior rating: On Violin - Jocelyn Brooks, Emma Davis, Emmanuel Dominguez, Julia Krebs, Kathryn Park, and Jiwoo Suh; On Viola - Matthew Velasquez; On Cello - Andre Plackis; On Bass - Max Scofield; A Viola duet - Matthew Velasquez and Miranda Whisenhunt.
Max Scofield was selected as "Best in Class" at the AISD Solo and Ensemble for Double Bass Class 1 solos! Max performed a Class 1 solo for bass by memory and the judge selected his performance as the best performance in his classification. His reward is to record his solo for AISD TV and it will be aired over the summer on their channel.
Boys Track Makes Us Proud…
The Boys Track Team participated in the Regional Track Meet. The team competed in one of the fastest regions in the country. John McCormick finished 3rd in the triple jump with a jump of 46'8.75". He barely missed out on qualifying to state. Chidera Okafor finished 6th in the 200. 4x400 team of Okafor, Ray, Gause, Gonzales, and Buckner set a new school record with a time of 3:20.3. The previous school record had been set back in 1992. 4x100 team ran a season’s best of 42.3.
Girls Track Had Strong Showing at Regionals…
The following girls placed or set a personal best in their event at Regionals in Waco. Claire Meyer - 6th place in the mile run with a new PR of 5:11; and she set a PR in the 2 mile with an 11:17. Alyssa Magallanez - 6th place in the High Jump with a jump of 5' 2". 4x200m Relay - Katherine Kastl, Austyn Keelty, Megan Oldham, and Nya Martin set a new PR of 1:45.27 in the relay.
JBHS Receives Safe Sports School Award…
Bowie is the recipient of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Safe Sports School award for its Athletic Training Program. The award champions safety and recognizes secondary schools that provide safe environments for student athletes. The award reinforces the importance of providing the best level of care, injury prevention and treatment to our young athletes. Thank you Pablo Riera and Brittani Thibodeaux for your dedication to our Bowie athletes!

2018 Bowie Girls Lacrosse Summer Camp This athletic camp for girls is a great way for beginners to get introduced to the fast paced game of lacrosse and for experienced players to improve their skills and be introduced to the Bowie High School lacrosse program. The camp will be directed by the coaches and players of the Bowie Women’s Lacrosse team. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
Date: Monday June 18h through Thursday June 21st ~ 9am-12noon
Cost: $100 through May 25, 2018. After May 25th, the fee is $120.
Ages: Incoming 3rd through 12th grade Girls
