FROM THE ADMINISTRATION

GOLF CART REQUEST: Bowie Administration, in an effort to improve security at Bowie, is seeking the donation of an electric golf cart that can be used to better monitor the school grounds. If anyone has a golf cart to donate or has a connection to a source who might be able to donate, please contact Katie Gilman at katie....@austinisd.org.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE: Current sophomores and juniors have until April 5th to apply for the Student Leadership program. Students selected for this program will earn elective credit while they develop and practice a variety of leadership skills such as: interpersonal relations, civic responsibility, decision-making, and problem solving. Students will apply these skills as they serve as mentors to 9th grade students and plan several community and school service projects.  Students are encouraged to participate for the entire year, but those students with restrictive schedules can opt to take the class for only one semester. We encourage all current sophomores and juniors with interest to apply regardless of leadership experience. Applications are available on the JBHS website (go to www.jbhs.org > Students > Student Activities) or can be picked up in C102 or the Women's Coaching Office. Please contact Coach Vickie Benson (vickie...@austinisd.org) for more information.
