Dear Friends,
As you'll no doubt recall, yesterday and today would have been the performance dates of the Brahms German Requiem. As you also may remember, we voted to dedicate the performances especially to the memory of our late Chorus member, Bob Judd, who died last summer. His widow, Cristle Collins Judd, the former dean of academic affairs and now the president of Sarah Lawrence College, wrote the message below that appeared on Facebook Messenger yesterday. Since some of you may not have seen it I will paste it below.
I hope you are well and staying safe!
Cheers,
Tony

My calendar has reminded me that I had planned to be in Brunswick, Maine this weekend. The Bowdoin Chorus was scheduled to perform the Brahms Requiem as their end of year concert and had planned to dedicate the performance to Bob's memory. (Bob and Katie sang with the chorus, and Katie and Hannah played in the orchestra for a number of their performances. I even played oboe for the Bowdoin Chorus performance of the Rutter Requiem one year - so lots of family connections to the group in which many friends sang.) Thanks to Anthony Antolini for planning this lovely gesture. I was glad that the reminder of the intended performance prompted me to pause this morning and listen to the entire requiem, a piece Bob and I both loved and which we had sung and/or played together a number of times and which Bob had also conducted.
