Hello,

Are we meeting this Thursday?  Are there any plans, If not I could do a Node-RED run-through?

I'll also update on my desktop vPiP progress - and thoughts for a pen changing mechanism

having a descent 3D printer has been a great benefit to move the project on - definitely need to upgrade mine.

Looks good! Do you still have the Ultimaker? I could do with some parts printing for the machine for box 44 unless Ed is on the case already?

Nothing planned for the meeting, node red would be interesting. Did you manage to get it working with the wireless pixels? If not I'd be interested in knowing how to get that working.

Still got the UM2 - send me the STL files you need printed and I’ll try get them for Thursday.

Not had a chance to create the nodes for the Wireless Pixels.

The gondola is the hardest to print well so would be nice to see this printed on the UM.

Hi guys

Looks like you got some cool stuff going on.

Bit of a thread hijack but just to let you know I'm now in Cornwall and
2 weeks in to owning 'Looe Country Park' camp site.

Not much time at the moment to be making anything and lacking the
workshop space I had in Wareham. First project might be to build the
workshop.

Anyone considering a break in Cornwall look us up.

Will let you know if Im heading back to Dorset at all. Will need that
beer once the season is over.

Rob

Hi Mark,

You weren't wrong the gondola is not 3D printer friendly as it must be printed with support, which is difficult to get off such thin parts - i've got one printed, but needs quite a bit of cleaning, but it should be functional

Looks pretty good to me! The test is how well the arms spin.

I wouldn't say its not 3d printer friendly, just not FDM friendly...
Gondola prints perfectly on SLS!

I got bored trying to avoid using support. I have the i3 dual nozzle
setup with soluble support but the printer is crap in z alignment.

I've decided whatever printer I get next has to have dual extruder so I can use a soluble support, trying to design to minimise the need for supports is a pain and detaching PLA supports is also a pain and can leave a less than ideal finish.

Have you confirmed with Leon for Thursday - I've also got some kit for you from Ed, re other plotters in Uni.

I would add that having nozzles that lift independently (UM3 and others) would take some of the pain away too. That or a single nozzle that can switch materials (i3 mk2s multi material upgrade) the down side there is the material waste.

Thanks for the reminder, I've emailed Leon about Thursday.
