Hey Friends,

We hope all your veggies and fruiting plants are looking vibrant!  For all of us here in the Piedmont its been a relatively wet Spring so far, which bodes well for a productive and fruitful summer season.  We recently heard a great report from one of our earliest (and most supportive!) clients, who described the bounty emerging in her garden this season.  You can read her letter on our blog here.

While the Obama's White House garden has folks in our line of work talking about "trickle down gardening", Bountiful Backyards continues to promote our mission of "Grow Your Own" and "Liberation Through Abundance"!  We recently got some decent press in the state capital's newspaper, the News and Observer, including a great picture on the front page above the fold.

As usual, we have some great workshops coming up:

Upcoming Workshops:

We have rescheduled our Rain Garden Workshop with Bobby Tucker for May 2nd at 1pm.  We will be building a Rain Garden from start to finish which will give folks great experience for a DIY (or DIT, Do It Together) project at their own homes.

May 9th at 2pm, Will Endres will lead us on a spring Herb Walk.  Spring Workshop details and registration are available on our website here .

We would also like to give a shout out about the free Chicken Tractor Workshop being hosted by our friends at the Stone House on April 19th from 10am-3pm.

The DIG crew over at SEEDS is also hosting a
"Pie Social" Fundraiser being put on April 19th from 2-6pm.  Supporting this event helps pay DIG kids to continue their important work.  Check the links to their websites for more details!

We are also gauging interest on a Fall vegetable garden primer, where we will take folks from start to finish, from digging the bed to harvest over a four Saturday sequence in late July with ourselves and our extended network of organic farmers.  Drop us an email if you think you might be interested!

Finally, look out for us on Earth Day in Durham on April 25th, we are co-facilitating the Eco Lounge and they've provided us with a bullhorn!

Cheers,

The BB Crew
