President Obama Looked Across the Border into North Korea and Saw the
Future of America

March 26, 2012 byGary DeMar

A news story that has not made a big splash in the United States is the
overwhelming defeat of the Socialists in Australia. The extent of the
defeat was so great that it’s been compared to Gen. George Custer’s Last
Stand at the June 1876 Little Big Horn massacre. The American Thinker
reports:

Some of the Seats lost by the socialists had been held by them for 100
years. The result means that the socialists will need some 15 years to re-
build and may not warm the government benches for a generation.

Now if only our 2012 election will net similar results.

While the socialists were going down to defeat in Australia, President
Obama was visiting South Korea. Someone handed him a pair of binoculars so
he could look across the border into North Korea. And what did he see? The
future of the United States if he, his fellow Democrats, and RINOs are not
defeated in November.

The Stalinist remnant of the Cold War was, in Obama’s eyes, nothing but a
nation which cannot make “anything of any use,” “doesn’t work,” and even
its vaunted weapons exports were hardly state of the art.

“It is like you are in a time warp,” Obama said Sunday, after he toured a
rocky border post in the demilitarized buffer zone that has split the
Korean peninsula for longer than he has been alive.

“It is like you are looking across 50 years into a country that has missed
40 years or 50 years of progress,” Obama marveled later, after taking a
helicopter back to teeming, prosperous Seoul, just 25 miles (40 kilometers)
away. (Source)

Is this the first time President Obama was aware of the economic and social
plight of the North Koreans? How could a Harvard-educated lawyer not know
the devastating effects of the economic policies of the North Korean
government? Hasn’t he seen the satellite shots of North and South Korea
that show the nearly dark North Korea at night? The image is stunning.

Why is South Korea prosperous and why isn’t North Korea? The answer is
simple: North Korea’s economy is centrally planned by the government.
“There are almost no legal small businesses, but illegal small businesses
are very common.”

The only thing keeping North Koreans alive is an illegal free economy run
by small business owners, the same type of legal small business owners that
the Obama administration is in the process of destroying in the United
States.

Will President Obama’s North Korean experience change his policies? I doubt
it. He will claim that the North Koreans didn’t implement their socialist
policies the right way. President Obama and his friends will argue that can
do a better job. You know, like in Cuba, the former Soviet Union, and
Venezuela.
