What are the fireworks like at Folsom Field?

Any hints on what to expect?
Does it get crowded? Gates open at 6, should we get there then?
Where are the fireworks shot off from? Where is the best place to
sit?
Are refreshment stands open? Can snacks and drinks be brought in?
What is parking like?

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being best, typically the fireworks
display at Folsom is a 5 or 6. The entertainment before the
fireworks typically isn't worth getting there early for.

If you're just going for the fireworks and not the entertainment
before the fireworks, I would plan to arrive in the stadium at
about 8:00 PM.
The stadium typically is gets 3/4 full (excluding the
north end of the stadium where seating will be closed).
It's usually not too crowded except for the best seats.

Behind the north side of the stadium. Sometimes they
have displays on the north end of the field, or in the
north stands.

South end of the stadium.

I seam to recall being able to buy lemonade. I don't recall
whether they allow you to bring in snacks and drinks. I
wouldn't bring anything in glass containers.

The earlier you get there, the better the parking. I would
try to park at the stadium parking rather than on the street.
Alternatively, you could park at Crossroads mall. The walk
isn't too long, but it is slightly up hill, which on a hot
summer evening can be a little uncomfortable.

Crowds vary, year to year, but I've never seen it so packed that you couldn't
find a seat right up to when the fireworks start.

Shot off from the north end. Just about any seat is good, but we prefer the
south horseshoe.

We've brought in soft drinks and sandwiches in back packs, but I really can't
advise whether or not this is legal.

Hey, it's Boulder. The earlier you come, the easier it is to park. we've
parked at the Research Park near Foothills and Colorado and walked in. If you
want to get closer, as already stated, come early.
Lastly, there are some real nice events in Nederland and Louisville, if you
want to go somewhere besides Boulder. The fireworks over the water in Nederland
are a treat. And watching the fireworks from the grass on the golf course in
Louisville is a real event. The Louisville setup has food and beverage vendors
along with folks handing out corporate trinkets. Parking isn't available at the
golf course, but you can park downtown, the KMart or over by the Movie theatre
complex and catch a shuttle.
