Here's instructions on how sign hanging is done. If you have
questions, fire away!

Please review your section in mapmyride before heading out to paint.
Also check the notes field in the signup sheet. The routes are meant
to highlight new paths and may include some pieces not yet in google
maps.

Take whatever directions you need with you. We can't create a printed
set of directions for everyone, and even if we did, our instructions
might not make sense to you. You are responsible for reviewing and
knowing your route.

Routes should be marked with paint already when you head out. If
there are problems with paint markings please call Ann and let her
know exactly where and what the problem is.

Before you head out, count your signs and figure a rough plan for how
often you'll hang signs. There probably aren't enough signs to hang
at every paint mark. We hang signs at major decision points.

Some signs show both routes, but there are not enough of those to
always use them when both routes go the same way. Just use two signs,
one for each route, when you need to.

Some sections include signs that go at trailheads warning folks of the
event. These should be hung on Friday. The signup doc has Friday
entered for those sections.

In open space we do not paint markings, we only use signs. They are
zip tied to poles; zip ties can be doubled or tripled to reach around
larger poles or trees.

We also have rest area and caution signs, and one or two short cut
signs for the B180 short cut. The rest stop is at Valmont city park.

Where the two routes are the same, some signs show both routes, but
there are not enough of those to always use them. Just use two signs,
one for each route, when you need to.

Thanks for your help! If you can't complete your section by noon on
June 4, let us know so we can get someone else working on it. Call
Ann with any questions: 303 350 7701.

first note - bring a pair of scissors and/or box knife to cut string
and zip ties.

Hi all,
the city folk asked me to point out that we should be hanging signs
such that folks can see them before they enter the intersection
itself. We're trying to guide cyclists and avoid accidents due to
sudden turns and stops.

Also remember your scissors!

see y'all tomorrow,
-Ann

Still not smarter than google groups so I couldn't find a place to enter my work but I just placed signs from Moorhead and Bear Creek, to the Marshall turnoff into open space and I placed a white sign on the Open space gate, explaining the increased bicycle traffic....and I beat the rain..
