Hokay, Ken did a big piece of the 180 yesterday and it sounds like
Kathy will finish up the 180 today. Kurt, Kerry, how far did you get
on the 360? I saw some of your marks...

I will put together a spreadsheet for sign hanging and route
checking. Since that all happens in two days I think we should
coordinate that a bit more.

We're on the way...

We did from 4th & Iris clockwise to the turn off 28th St. frontage road into campus.  So left to do is Scott Carpenter up the path and up 4th, and Kittredge through Uni Hill and down the creek path to the end.  I still have the materials and I plan to do the first leg (covering both directions on the creek path) tonight on my way home.  I can do the final portion tomorrow or Thursday.

I messed up the portion around Will Vill, because I continued west on Baseline instead of turning left on 30th to the path along the turnpike.  I'll fix that when I do the ending leg.

Wow, thanks Kurt and Kerry! Kurt, keep us updated on how it's going and
whether you want others to take some of this.

I'll get a spreadsheet around for the sign-hanging portion as soon as I
can.

I was hoping to do more tonight but it's too wet to paint.  Hopefully tomorrow.

I'm likely to have some time early next week, if you don't get to it or if it stays wet. Was fun riding with you again, Kurt!

I planned to paint this afternoon too, but will do it tomorrow as long as we don't have more rain.
Thanks~  Kathy

I got stopped by the police twice last night.  I didn't mark in campus, as directed, but I was just starting to mark the Broadway path past Kittredge, as shown on the map, and up came flashing blue lights and they pulled their guns on me... well, no, not that part, actually they were very nice, but they told me the Broadway path was considered campus property and I shouldn't mark it, and they really did have guns, so I obeyed.  So either that needs to get cleared up by people above my rank, or the Broadway path section will need to get signed.  I started marking again by the Colorado Bookstore onto College.

Then I was marking at the 13th & College intersection, which is right in front of the police substation, and a city officer came out to ask what I was doing.  He was even nicer and just said "okay, I trust you".

As a result it got pitch dark before I finished the Creek Path.  So I have a bit more to do there, and I'll be done, if we don't include the Broadway path.

Hi everyone~

Wow, Kurt...twice in one night regarding the police.  Thank goodness they didn't use their guns...   :)

I got as far as the beginning of Lashley yesterday (starting from the underpass beyond Martin Park) and ran out of paint.  Will go to Community Cycles and get more paint and finish today.

Ann~the next 3 days are soo full for me.  I want to help with the signs--can you let me know what timeline you are looking at for hanging those?

Thanks a bunch~  Kathy

Kurt, that's hysterical. I've emailed our city contacts to ask whether
we should paint the Broadway path or not. I'll let y'all know when I
hear something.

Sign hanging all happens a week from today. We are not allowed to start
hanging signs until next Friday, and it must be completed by noon
Saturday. As soon as signs are hung we start the final ride-around to
check for completeness and touch up.

Kathy, if you need help completing that section, let us know!

Hi all,
Kathy tells me she finished the last B180 section. Yay! Kurt, are we
360 paint complete? Should someone else finish it off?

Next steps:
Hang signs Friday
Check and touch up the routes Saturday
Have fun Sunday
Remove signs Monday (or Sunday if you're willing to ride late)

I've updated our spreadsheet so folks can sign up for sections. If
you'd like to participate but the sections aren't to your liking, feel
free to change things and email the group. I'd rather have more folks
working!

I will get the signs, instructions, and string & zip ties to the shop by
noon tomorrow.

The B360 is complete other than the portion on the Broadway Path, which the police told me not to paint.  I can talk to whoever's in charge if you want, but I don't know who it is.  Is it Annie Noble?

Hi Everyone~

Ann, the number of people who are signed up to do the sign hanging does look ominous.  Do you want me to put out a message to the Bldr Co. Commuter Cyclists group to request help?...or at least to those who have been our most active members over time?

I just put my name and signed up for some of the sign hanging on the spreadsheet.  I'll plan on being able to do this correctly based on last year and the directions I'll get tomorrow from Community Cycles...or being able to call you, I hope, if I am still not sure.    :)

Thanks~  Kathy

Yes, please, Kathy, let the meetup folks know. Put my phone number in
the message so folks can call if they have questions. You should have
no problems signing this part, as it's the same part you painted this
year and signed last year. Instructions in the packet. Bring scissors
or a box knife. Someone will be at the shop until 10 PM tonight and
starting at 10 AM tomorrow so you can pick up signs. Thank you so much!

Hi Ann,

I see from looking at the spread sheet that you looked at or edited it a few minutes ago but,
I see only the painting references, so am wondering how to proceed at this point and don't want to duplicate or take on what someone else plans to do.

Hi Ken,
there are several sheets within that file. Look at the bottom for the
tabs - click on the one marked "post signs". That should show you what
still needs to be signed up for. I tried to save the sheet such that
the 'post signs' tab would show up as the default when you opened the
file, but maybe that's not working for everyone...

No one's signed up to sign the section you painted - if you can't get
the silly file to cooperate you can always do that. Just email the
group so no one else takes it on.

Feel free to call me: 303 350 7701.

and THANK YOU!

Hi Ann, et. all,
The B180 from Baseline and Gapter Rd. to Scott Carpenter is "signed".
Hanging 1 sign at each decision intersection, I ran out just before the sharp left turn at Foothills frontage path.... I made a total of 9 more signs to get to Scott Carpenter from there.
On the ride thru tomorrow you may want to take as many as 4 more signs for this section.... the route is fairly clear but from my experience last year riding this route for the first time (and not with a group or around riders familiar with the route), I would have preferred a few more signs at some decision points.
Overall it feels pretty complete.
Ken
