DENVER Blocking a bike lane is now illegal in the state of Colorado. While it was already illegal for drivers to block bike lanes (for the most part) in places like Denver, Boulder and Aurora, many municipalities across the state still had no punitive actions for doing so. Thats where HB26-1237, or the Transportation Safety Modifications Act, comes into play. Signed by Gov. A proposal to reduce credit card swipe fees has whipped up one of the frothier lobbying fights at the State Capitol this year, pitting the banking industry against retailers, restaurants and other businesses. It passed the legislature Wednesday and now heads to the governor’s desk.
