Posting Job Description:
The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Senior Software Engineer for our Next Generation Navigation Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:

•Take a leadership role in the design, implementation, and support of our big data analytics platform and real time event stream processing for our IP video products.
•Event stream processing.
-Transformation and enrichment of event data for broadcast to other data consumers.
-Work with client development teams to create client libraries (Javscript, potentially native technologies) to send events.
•Big Data map-reduce processing.
•Data analytics. Definition and calculation of aggregates and trending.
•Understanding the business functionality implemented by TWC client applications for video discovery and consumption.

Job Requirements:

•Degree in mathematics or computer science.
•Desire to change how the business uses data:
-For product decisions to support drive user experiences
- For operational purposes
-To support customer care.
•Data analysis expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hadoop, HDFS, Pig scripts, Java UDF, SQL.
• Storm (or other event stream analysis).
• Akka, Kafka.
• Familiarity with the concepts of ETL.
• No SQL databases (MongoDB).
• Statistical analysis and/or Mahout.
• Understanding of client library development, especially Javascript. Knowledge of native client platforms such as IOS, Android, Roku, etc.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

Lead: Assigns, trains, schedules or oversees work of others.
