Fun run coming up fast

ADAPT goes back to 1978. Using a variety of means we have fought to secure home care, or attendant services, so people can LIVE, at home in freedom, with support live freely and well at home. The home care and Money
Follows the person portions of ACA, that's written by ADAPT, and the work of many many, years of lived disability experience. The Disability Integration Act, which we are working to pass, is also written in large degree by us, by some ADAPTers and lawyers
I know.
We started in the busses, once we had some folks living outside institutional settings of course, local and greyhound, we found an element of being not nice necessary, as in the Gandhi-King Civil Disobedient Civil Rights
Tradition. It still is. Fighting unjust unwanted institutional placement, Affordable ACCESSIBLE, integrated housing, access to housing vouchers and programs, Attendant care, in said house, Well paid Attendants, Curb cuts and access in public, jobs, assistive
tech in jobs, education, awareness, knowledge building, allyship, and Arrest in pursuit of justice, in all these areas. And more, more than I can say, without surrendering my whole day.
It has been my honor for 10 years, to be with ADAPT, to be arrested for Justice with ADAPT, and to find myself at every step observing and participating in multiple Chapters, in
many Actions with ADAPT and friendly similar groups, including their training programs, I have given of my talents in just about every role one can, from mere voice and marcher (my preferred) to the very top of strategy and leadership, and all the steps in
between from minor media, to police negotiator, from Governor's panelist on housing, to noisemaker and needed obstructionist, as conditions need.
I love the work I do for independence so hard fought, and for some, still-to-be won, at great cost to my People.
I will also seeking your help. I have volunteered to join in the ADAPT FUN*RUN for Disability Rights which supports Georgia ADAPT work to make community living a reality for everyone.
I will roll my way around Upper D Park - Area 14 - "C" St. SW and South Capitol St. on 05/19/2019 until I complete 25 or so laps.
