Students from Fort Lewis College and members from Durango are starting an ADAPT Chapter for the rights of people with disabilities. This rally is to put forth our requests to not only Fort Lewis College but also the Durango Community. This rally with have a number of students and members of Durango speaking about disability rights.

 

We are asking:

 

Disability Compliance Officer (is required by law)

Better kept sidewalks

More access to all Durango business

More accessible classrooms

More accessible restrooms

More accessible library

More accessible mailing room

More access to all buildings on Fort Lewis campus

Dorms more accessible

More staff and funding for Disability Services

More advising for Disability Services

Required staff training on disabilities

Fix cracks on the sidewalks

Buttons fix on the buildings

More awareness and understanding of disability
