I just wanted to put this here for anyone else wondering how to connect to an SFTP server either for incoming or outgoing files with a private key instead of a username and password.

Here are the channel settings:

The Private key file needs to be in an RSA format, not PEM. We are just setting it here so we can use it in the user communication script.

You also need to make sure the Paramiko package is installed as that is what Bots uses for SFTP.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hello,
This is very helpful to me.
Can you also please let me know the  Paramiko Version to be installed.
Thank you.

Thankks,
Akhilesh

I've got 1.15.2 installed on one server and 2.4.0 on another.

I noticed for newer paramiko versions bots checks for presence of an older dependency.
it is easy to comment that check though (in communication.py)

kind regards, Henk-Jan Ebbers

where in the file would you comment this out? I am using Paramiko 2.11.0 so not sure if this would cause any issues?
