Generating 834 or 837 edi file (in .xml format)

Hello

 

I am working in heath care company and absolutely new to BOTS. I have tried the tutorial.

 

What I am trying to do is:

a. to give some .xml file (834 HIPPA format) and get out csv file with descriptions.

b. to give csv file and get 834 file in .xml format.

 

I undersatnd that in I need to use grammer, mapping and/ or some plugins for that. I went though them from sourceforge site and wiki site. But there is no file named 834. There are numbers like say 5010.. what does that mean?

 

I am sorry, but I am not able to understand how to proceed.

Can anyone explain me, please?

Take a look at x12 plugin to xml as on sourgeforge.
That should gove you enough clues.

Read something about x12.
Are you aware that there are x12 versions?

Yes, I got started with the BOTS by installing the plugin named: x12toxml_supplier_version850-856-810-997_20130711.zip.

This can convert files from x12 to xml for 850,856,810,997 format.

 

I am facing 2 main problems:

 

1. I am looking for Insurance and Health service (INS) documents like 837 or 834. How can I get a plugin working for that?

If plug-in is not avilable, could you please let me know how to develop the same for 837 or 834 (according to HIPPA guidelines)

 

2. I am also interested in developing/ using BOTS for conversion from csv to x12 and so on, such that csv contains details of each transaction.

Is it possible?

Mighg be jnteresting to make a decent plugin for 834 and/or 837 to xml.  Do you have a good xml layout for this?

Hi Shashank,

I had the same requirement for EDI 820 and 823. Here is what I did in order to make it work:

1. I installed a plugin which converts the X12 to XML (demo_one-on-one_x122xml_2_0.zip)
2. Once Installed you can see the configured routes, channels and translations.
3. then I download all the X12 grammars from the site (which contains almost all the grammars type) and place them inside the usersys/grammars/x12 folder.
4. Once placed, I simple go and create a new translations for newly added grammars (exactly same as plug-in had created above)
5. Then you can create your own route similar to the plugin which will pickup the grammars for you (in this case you said 834 and 837)
