error with lower case in edifact

'm receiving the edifact file, but in one of its segment it has lowercase and it errors out like this.

MessageError: [A59]: incoming file has not allowed characters at/after file-position 213: "' RFF+ADE:data'

how to resolve this?

IT works fine with uppercase like his RFF+ADE:DATA'.....

BUT i need to be able to process lower case as well

your partner does not work standard compliant.

they probably send UNOA character set, should send UNOC. 

if you want to accomodate for this that is possible.

not at my office now but search in wiki for something like charset, character set, UNOA, UNOC.
