My team is looking for a course developer who can develop course
material for our Solaris training curriculum portfolio. More information

Position: Technical Course Developer / Instructional Designer
Location: Bangalore
Company: Sun Microsystems India

Experience:
- Working as a user or administrator of Solaris, Linux, or other,
preferably UNIX, operating system
- Experience developing learning materials

Education: Graduate/post graduate (B.Tech, MCA, and Sciences preferred).
Formal Instructional Design training will be a plus.

Job Description:
- Create Solaris related task-based training content for system
administrators.
- Develop and maintain training material such as student guides, student
work books, lab material, etc. for various delivery methods
(instructor-led, web-based, virtual delivery).
- Consult with Subject Matter Experts and targeted users to create content.
- Identify learner needs, analyze, and logically organize complex
technical information.
- Transform complex information into engaging and effective training
material.
- Set up Solaris systems and capture steps for student lab exercises.
- Test and debug deliverables for quality assurance.

Required Skills:
- Should have knowledge of Solaris or UNIX or Linux operating systems.
- Understands the roles and responsibilities of a system administrator
and/or software developer.
- Demonstrate familiarity with training content development.
- Ability to use industry standard authoring tools such as Microsoft
Office, Adobe FrameMaker.
- Ability to understand and communicate concepts quickly and accurately.
- Strong writing, editing, and proof reading skills.

Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Solaris features, middleware, databases.
- Familiar with client/server concepts, IT, and operating systems,
specifically Solaris.
- Experience creating online virtual labs.
- Previous experience creating training content or technical
documentation for system administrators or software developers.
- Familiar with programming concepts.
- Exposure to Captivate, Camtasia.
