Hello Everyone!

I thought to update you all that the Week #2 quiz for OpenSolaris Geek Hunt has started. You can take the quiz at http://www.thinkdigit.com/osolgeekhunt

If you missed last weeks quiz, then you can take it at http://www.thinkdigit.com/osolgeekhunt/week1

So far we have recieved a very warm response for the quiz and I will post the stats as and when I finish compiling them. To remind everyone once again, you can win an Acer Aspire One netbook, a 1 TB external hard disk, a 500 GB external hard disk and many more goodies!

Do let me know how you find the questions for this week!

Cheers,
Abhishek

Hi Srinivas,

Please see my responses inline.

Quizs?
The purpose of these quizzes is twofold, first to give people a reason to try out OpenSolaris and second bring all the current users of OpenSolaris to compete against each other so as to have some fun in a geeky way ;)
Because these quizzes are online, they are highly accessible to people everywhere in the world, and a competition like format, in which people can win prizes, would give everyone a premium on the reason to try out OpenSolaris if they have not done it so far. This quiz is also complemented with a minibook on OpenSolaris (Fast Track To OpenSolaris) and most of the questions in the quiz appear from that minibook. So the quiz also tests how much of OpenSolaris has someone learned from that minibook.

and totally How many we need to participate?
We are currently planning on having 4 quiz in total (new quiz every week, so it will run for the whole four week). We can increase the number of quizzes based on demand from the participants and the community members.

On what basis
prizes will be distributed?
Prizes will be distributed on the basis of total points accumulated at the end of all the quizzes. If there is a tie, then we have certain tie breaker mechanisms put in place which we will use to decide the first second and third prizes.

I hope this helps.
