Sorry to reply late, since i'm not in this area, will try my best to describe.

Think about a large scale system like google, each second there're tons of requests coming in and out to the google cluster servers.

There're several kings of servers, handling user requests (in google's case this is web requests.), read, write, database etc. So load balancing is an issue, synchronization, performance as well.  

The idea is not from me, so i cannot tell you more right now, but the complicity is like a mini google. For my friend, he is missing such person to handle this, then get VC, then start.

The idea is cool in the sense that it'll be very useful, generate better opportunity for each business, certainly the challenge is if we can make it work.
