Hi folks!
We're ready to officially announce the next game jam we're hosting:
Immigration Jam!
We've already "leaked" a lot of this info already, but here are all
the details that are set in stone thus far:
Date: August 21st and 22nd, 2010
Place: Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Lab (Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA, USA)
Map:

Hosted by: Alex Schwartz and Darren Torpey
Theme: Immigration!
That's right, the theme is "immigration" -- one of America’s oldest
and greatest sources of pride and a topic particularly near and dear
to us for personal reasons these days, as we've explained in more
detail in the official blog announcement we just published:
http://bostongamejams.com/2010/07/21/announcing-immigration-jam/
You can go there to READ ALL ABOUT IT, and we highly encourage this
action.
The short of it is that we have a good friend of ours (and indeed the
Boston game dev community as a whole) who had to physically leave our
local game dev community due to an expiring visa, and we want to help
fix that situation so that he can come back! Thus, we're encouraging
people to make games about immigration at this jam. It doesn't have to
be political and it doesn't even have to be serious in any way, but
some obvious relation to the theme is highly encouraged!
Again, we've put lots of info about the event on the blog (http://
bostongamejams.com), and we'll be writing more about "what is a game
jam" etc. for those of you who are new to the concept and/or have not
actually been part of one before.
Official RSVP to come. For now: save the dates! Saturday, August 21st
and Sunday the 22nd
We're looking forward to seeing you then!
