Anyone available for a
roadtrip to Worcester tomorrow evening?
If you enjoy taking your dog on DCR property (such as the Esplanade or
Southwest Corridor) then this meeting is for you.
Sorry for the
late notice... this was just forwarded to me an hour ago.

Subject: [parksforestsfriends] PARTNERSHIP CHAT - DCR'S PARK WATCH
PROGRAM, MAY 14, 6 PM, WORCESTER
To: parksfore...@yahoogroups.com
Date: Monday, May 11, 2009, 5:00 PM
Following up on the success of the first Partnership Chat, which
was
held in March, May's session will cover DCR's Park Watch Program, and
feature Chief Park Ranger Curt Rudge. Chief Rudge will be on hand to
discuss how the Park Watch Program works in partnership with community
stewards to protect public open space by promoting safe and
environmentally sound use of local parkland. Concerned volunteers work
cooperatively with park rangers and police to recognize and report
suspicious activity in and around park areas. Volunteers provide useful
information to park managers and local law enforcement agencies by
serving as additional "eyes and ears."
Partnership Chats are a series of
informal forums planned for our partners and Friends groups to talk
about broad number of programs conducted within DCR parks and the
policies that govern them. Scheduled once every 6-8 weeks and held at
various locations throughout the Commonwealth, these sessions are
planned to attract new and old partners alike, and provide a forum for
Conrad Crawford, DCR's Director of Partnerships, to facilitate
conversations where DCR's Friends and Partners can learn more about the
internal workings of the agency while meeting the staff responsible for
running the agency's facilities and programs.
When: Thursday, May 14,
2009, 6:00pm-8:00pm
Where: Quisigamond State Park, 10 North Lake Ave.,
Worcester, MA
You can RSVP for May's Partnerships Chat by contacting
