Immediately after climbing over that fence to get a better look at that corner area at Squantum Point Park, I flushed A Great Egret and an immature Little Blue Heron. This was at 12:30. Thankfully, the heron didn't go far. I had initially thought they both were Great Egrets. I eventually was fairly certain that it was a Little Blue Heron, but after fifteen minutes it flew off. However, I returned eighty minutes later, but from the official entrance to see if I could find the Yellow-crowned Night-Heron I saw about five days earlier. Well, after fifteen minutes, who should drop from the sky right in front of me but the suspect Litlle Blue! This was near the official entranceI I studied this bird to my heart's content. I checked off all the identifying details in my head. posture-check, two-toned bill-check, dusky wing tips-check, legs and feet all yellow-green-check. Year bird! A bit later, all the birds in that wet area flew out, spooked by an Osprey (as far as I could tell) I birded Squantum from 10:45-4:30, with a break to eat pizza along the boardwalk (Boardwalk Pizza)
