Hi,
The Scarlet Tanager that I posted five weeks ago (June 11) from Webster Conservation Area in Newton is apparently still here! These woods are dense folks, so nesting is most certainly conceivable. I had just entered the area from the Elgin Rd. entrance (off Langley Rd., near Newton Center) when I unmistakably heard  chip burr calls. And if that weren't enough, as I was exiting these dense woods from the Warren Ave. exit, I heard the begging call of one or two Barred Owls just down a bit on Renee Terrace. There was also a flock of Wild Turkeys in the area. (Elgin St.) No mosquitoes or barely any too. (due to the drought) . A very short walk to get away from the commercialism to find lovely woods. Also heard Eastern Wood-Pewee and Red-eyed Vireo,
