This afternoon/evening, I was ambling along at the Leo J. Martin Golf Course north of Concord St.. I then crossed over to the section south of Concord Rd. (opposite Pine Grove Ave. I headed over to the brushy wetlands and soon realized I was hearing multiple Rusty Blackbirds.I was right near the stone bridge that divides Newton from Weston. Also, the habitat was perfect for this species-classic rusty habitat. I walked along the swamp edge up to the wooden boarwalk over the Charles River. I then walked across this bridge which was built for golfers to the other side and along that edge. I reckon there were Twenty-two Rusty Blackbirds in total: There is one pullover spot on Intervale Rd. near Park St. This area along the Charles is quite beautiful.
