I birded here from 1:45-6:45. I was not expecting a Virginia Rail here, but  Lo! what's that I hear? Lo! What's that I see? Yup. This was at 5:45.

Yellow-crowned Night-Heron 1        continuing a month or so now
Green-winged Teal 5                       Neponset River near low tide
Red-tailed Hawk 1
Virginia Rail 1                                 didn't recognize it by its call. Once I saw it, I knew

Greater Yellowlegs 1
Solitary Sandpiper 1
Laughing Gull 1
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
Eastern Phoebe 3
Blue-headed Vireo 1                    F.O.F.
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2

Yellow-rumped Warbler 13
Palm Warbler 2
Swamp Sparrow 8
P.S. Just now, outside the Brookline Public Library, i heard and saw a Hairy Woodpecker. This is an unusual location to see one of these birds.
